Sunday School (September through May) and Adult Bible Class are held on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m., year round.
Pastor may also offer weekday Bible classes as well (on hold during our vacancy).
Confirmation instruction is offered to all those who wish to become communicant members of Emanuel. Please see the Pastor for information regarding these classes. (On hold during our vacancy)
HISTORY
In 1847, Emanuel Lutheran Church was formed. Emanuel (often in the Bible as “Immanuel) is a special name of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Emanuel means “God With Us.” As God’s family at Emanuel Lutheran, Lancaster, we are blessed with that name in the waters of Holy Baptism, and seek to live that name in our Worship and life totally by His grace and love.
In November of 1920, Emanuel moved to its current location of 231 E. Mulberry St. The members paraded from the old church building located at 131 W. Chestnut St. to the present building.
SERVICE TIME
Service is held at 10:15 a.m., per direction of the Elders
The Lord's Supper is celebrated on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of the month, and all Feast Days.
During the vacancy, the Lord's Supper will be offered on these Sundays when we have a Supply Pastor.
